Special blog!: International business trip as a Business Development Manager
Our Business Development Manager Keisuke Tsuboi went on a week-and-a-half-long international business trip in late October. He visited a total of four DAIKEN factories in Malaysia and New Zealand during this trip. He also had some business meetings in Japan and Singapore during layovers.
According to Tsuboi, it was a hectic but interesting business trip! We would like to show you the work-life side of Interra USA through this blog!
10/18 (Tuesday)
Tsuboi took a flight from Sea-Tac international airport, Seattle to Narita international airport, Japan in the afternoon.
10/19 (Wednesday)
He arrived in Japan at 3:30 p.m. and had a layover there until he got on a plane to Malaysia at 5:30 p.m.
10/20 (Thursday)
After he landed in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at 8:25 a.m., he caught another plane to Bintulu airport. He had his first factory tour at DAIKEN Sarawak Sdn (DSK) and a meeting there. Later, he had dinner with the DSK group to cultivate a relationship with them.
10/21 (Friday)
He took a taxi from Bintulu to Miri to head to his second factory tour at DAIKEN Miri Sdn (DMR) in Malaysia. He also had a meeting and dinner with members of DMR.
10/22 (Saturday)
He left Malaysia for Singapore and got there at 5:30 p.m. Although there are no DAIKEN factories in Singapore, the company has overseas subsidiaries there. Tsuboi had dinner with DAIKEN Singapore members.
10/23 (Sunday)
He took a plane from Singapore to Christchurch, New Zealand via Sydney, Australia.
10/24 (Monday)
Since New Zealand had a public holiday on that day, he played golf with his business members.
10/25 (Tuesday)
He had his third factory tour and a meeting at DAIKEN New Zealand (DNZ). He had dinner with the members of DNZ after the tour.
10/26 (Wednesday)
He flew from Christchurch to Invercargill. He had his last factory visit and meeting at DAIKEN Southland (DSL).
10/27 (Thursday)
All day flight day…!
Invercargill to Auckland
Auckland to Sydney
Sydney to Japan
10/28 (Friday)
He had a lunch meeting with the members of JK Holdings.
Fun fact: Interra USA is a subsidary of JK Holdings
He took a flight from Japan to Seattle at 6 p.m.
Tsuboi visited 4 countries within two weeks! This was an unusually busy trip since he hadn’t been able to go to those factories and meet with his international peers because of the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic situation.
