DAIKEN’s GRAVIO embossed type has passed two fire-safety tests that the International Association of Plumbing & Mechanical Officials group conducts, and we received certificates last November.

The two tests were taken a place in California and our Vice President Zenichi Kajihara and Business Development Manager Keisuke Tsuboi went there hoping to get fire safety certificates for the wall.

In fact, GRAVIO embossed type has already satisfied the standard fire safety requirement that the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in Japan imposes. Although it has a good recognition as a high-quality incombustible wall in Japan, it needed to go through the US-standard-fire-protection tests in order to reach out to more clients in the U.S.

Passing the tests was a necessary step for the Interra USA to sell GRAVIO embossed type to commercial properties in a region like California where requirements for building materials are stricter.

The first test is called “ASTM E82-2018b, Standard Test Method for Surface Burning Characteristics of Building Materials.” This test is a 2018 version one that’s widely recognized across the U.S. The second test is called “ASTM E84-2021, Standard Test Method for Surface Burning Characteristics of Building Materials.” Since this 2021 one is a updated version of the 2018 one, it is going to replace the position as a mainstream fire-safety standard that the 2018 one has.

In both tests, GRAVIO embossed type has withstood flames for 30 minutes. It didn’t catch a fire.

When fires occur, you can greatly reduce the risk of damages on people and other things if your house and workplace have GRAVIO embossed type.

We are hoping that restaurants and hardware stores in the U.S. start leaning about this product and more and more people will benefit from it.
